Leeds United midfielder Anton Stach has been named Hisense Player of the Match following his influential performance in the Whites’ victory over Wolves.
The German received 52% of the supporters’ vote, comfortably finishing ahead of goalkeeper Karl Darlow (17%) and defender Gabriel Gudmundsson (14%).
A commanding midfield display
Stach played the full 90 minutes and was central to Leeds’ control of the match. He not only contributed decisively in the final third with a goal and an assist, but also showcased his all-round qualities with 61 touches and 32 completed passes.
Defensively, the 25-year-old proved equally important, winning five duels, making four clearances, as well as registering three tackles and an interception. His balance of composure on the ball and work off it earned widespread praise from supporters.
Darlow and Gudmundsson recognised
While Stach dominated the voting, Karl Darlow’s shot-stopping earned him second place. The experienced goalkeeper produced a series of strong saves to maintain Leeds’ advantage.
Meanwhile, Gabriel Gudmundsson’s energy down the left-hand side saw him secure third place, with the Swedish full-back impressing both defensively and in attack.
Fan backing
It was Stach, however, who captured the imagination of the Leeds faithful, with more than half of those voting singling him out as their standout performer.
The result underlines the midfielder’s growing importance in Daniel Farke’s side, as Leeds continue their push for momentum in the Premier League.
