Antonin Kinsky has steadied himself under Roberto De Zerbi, embracing a second chance after Tottenham’s 2-5 defeat to Atlético Madrid in the Champions League last 16 first leg on 10 March.

"Of course, after the match I was sad that it happened, but on the other hand I was calm. I am lucky to be surrounded by kind people who always give good feedback, who say what they really think and are honest with me. So I spoke a lot with them, I listened, then I compared their views with my own feelings and they were similar," he told Sky Sports.

Picked by Igor Tudor for that first leg, the Czech goalkeeper conceded three in 15 minutes, two from his own mistakes, before being replaced by Guglielmo Vicario.

"So for me, it was simply to keep going and make sure that when the next opportunity comes, I will be ready again."

Since De Zerbi succeeded Igor Tudor at the end of March, Kinsky produced a vital late stop from Joao Gomes in the 1-0 win over Wolverhampton last Saturday.

Those three points have mattered in the survival fight, with Spurs 18th before visiting Aston Villa on Sunday at 20:00.

Spurs have taken four points from three matches under De Zerbi. "By the way he speaks, by what you read and hear from him, you can see he believes in us, and that is an important message he gives us, the quality is there in the team."
