Serie A giants Napoli lost further ground in the title race as a result of their frustrating 1-1 draw against Parma. Despite that, manager Antonio Conte hasn’t lost hope of a potential title win.
Inter take on Como later in the day. A win can take them nine clear at the top, leaving the Partenopei leaving their result today.
They conceded in the very first minute, as Gabriel Strefezza found the back of the net. Scott McTominay drew level in the second half but Napoli could never really find a crucial winner.
After the tie, Conte spoke to DAZN and suggested that the Scudetto dream isn’t done yet.
He said – via CalcioNapoli24: “The dream isn’t over, there are six games left. Inter still have to play. It was a dream tied to the team ahead of us. Looking at Inter’s numbers so far, it was certainly a bold dream to pursue. We’re continuing to do what we’re doing. We’re coming off five wins.”
The Italian also indicated that Napolils real goal was qualifiying for the Champions League and they are on track for that.
“It’s disappointing today; we could have gotten two more points for the Champions League, but we’re one point closer. We have to give our all until the end, it is what we’re doing. Aside from the approach, which was a punch that could have knocked us out, I have little to reproach. We know what this championship has been, we’re proud, and we must continue on this path.”
The end to the season isn’t easy for the Naples side. They are yet to play Como, with a tie against Bologna also coming up. Their next game will see them take on Lazio, which will be another test.
