Eintracht are gearing up for their home match against Heidenheim, with Can Uzun, Michy Batshuayi and Younes Ebnoutalib also back on the pitch.

Head coach Albert Riera gathered 23 outfield players, including Can Uzun, Michy Batshuayi and Younes Ebnoutalib, as well as the goalkeepers, who initially trained on one of the neighbouring pitches. Meanwhile, Rasmus Kristensen, Ansgar Knauff, Arthur Theate and Kaua Santos continued their rehab work.

Speed of the essence

“The coach has already told us that we’re going to be training very hard in the coming days,” revealed Michael Zetterer after the goalless draw at St. Pauli at the weekend, giving an early insight into the content of this week’s training. Being quicker when in possession, tidier in passing and laying the ball off, more efficient in attack with men over, taking more risks at times in offensive play, attacking more purposefully and decision-making outside the opposition penalty area were all on the agenda.

“We just have to be better with the ball. We had too many touches and didn’t play quickly enough,” Riera said of the goalless draw at St Pauli. “We have to take two touches at most to find a free player. I’m sure we’ll be better in our next game.“The team will train again on Thursday and Friday before hosting 1. FC Heidenheim at the Deutsche Bank Park on Saturday, with three Bundesliga points again up for grabs.
