Arab and African Power: Egypt, Morocco, Saudi Arabia Lead Strong Charge at FIFA U20 World Cup
The 2025 FIFA U20 World cup kicks off this Saturday in Chile bringing strong Arab & African presence to the global stage.
Egypt, Morocc and Saudi Arabia lead the Arab chargewhile Nigeria, South Africa also look to showcase their rising stars in tournament that often produces the next generation of world football icons.
All 3 team arrive with high ambitions. Egypt secured qualification after reaching the semi finals of the U20 AFCON before finishing 4th.
Morocco went even further taking silver after losing the continental final to South Africa. Saudi Arabia booked their ticket through Asia overcoming South Korea on penalties in the semi final before falling to Australia in the final.

The draw placed the Arab sides in competitive groups. Egypt face hosts Chile, New Zealand & Japan in Group A.
Morocco were paired with Brazil, Spain and Mexico in Group C. Saudi Arabia will battle Colombia, Norway and Nigeria in Group F.
As for the South African group E, it's competing alongside America, New Caledonia & France.
Each team will need to finish in the top 2 or be among the 4 best 3rd placed teams to advance to the knockouts.
This edition carries extra weight as it takes place just 1 year before the 2026 FIFA World cup. For many youngsters, it's chance to stake claim for senior national team roles & attract interest from top european clubs.
Egypt's U20 side are playing now against Japan on Saturday 27 September at 8:00 pm (GMT).
