Real Madrid find themselves on the cusp of a crisis amid frustrating results and dressing-room rifts.
With just one win in last five La Liga games, Xabi Alonso is walking on a thin ice. The chaos at Santiago Bernabeu has also raised question marks over the futures of a number of stars.
Manchester United have been strongly linked with Vinícius Júnior, whose relationship with Alonso is thought to be strained. Now, it has emerged that the Red Devils are also monitoring one of the Spaniard’s favourites in Madrid.
According to CaughtOffside, United hold a genuine interest in Arda Güler, who is “fast becoming one of the most coveted names in European football.”
It is claimed United are “stepping up their pursuit” of Güler, who has become a regular under Alonso, having started 13 league games this campaign.
Los Blancos signed Güler from Fenerbahce in July 2023 for €30m, including potential add-ons.
The Turkey international, who is capable of playing as a right winger, attacking midfielder, or central creator, has earned plaudits for his technical prowess and passing vision.

Liverpool and Arsenal are also following the Real midfielder.
It is believed Ruben Amorim has identified Güler as a priority target for next summer, as United’s midfield has struggled for creativity and consistency.
Bruno Fernandes scored twice and assisted a goal in United’s 4-1 win over Wolves, underlining his creative brilliance.
However, the Mancunians still lack midfielders capable of keeping the ball and progressing the play higher up the field.
With Kobbie Mainoo expected to depart under Amorim, United could do with the signing of Güler, who is arguably more technically gifted and intense out of possession than the Englishman.
