Inter Milan talisman Lautaro Martinez is seemingly back to his usual best following an unenviable form in the first half of the season.
According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, El Toro’s resurgence has all the makings of a winter signing.
Martinez’s form toward the end of 2024 was frustrating, to say the least.
However, the 27-year-old has gone from strength to strength at the beginning of the new calendar year.
Despite Inter’s loss in the Supercoppa Italiana final, the Argentines’ goal against AC Milan could prove a turning point.
Indeed, he has since transferred his lethal form to Serie A.
Martinez scored in Inter’s 2-2 draw against Bologna a week ago, taking his seasonal league tally to seven.
Furthermore, El Toro opened the scoring in a 3-1 win against Empoli last weekend with a stunning long-range strike.
The goal against Roberto D’Aversa’s side was his eighth in Serie A this term, with only Marcus Thuram netting more (13).
More importantly, the Inter captain has scored in back-to-back home league appearances for the first time in over a year.
With Martinez firing on all cylinders again, the Nerazzurri will look forward to upcoming challenges in Serie A and Europe.
