Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez is ready to return to the starting eleven for today’s Serie A clash between Parma and Inter Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report, however, that Martinez will likely be substituted off in view of Tuesday’s match against Bayern Munich.

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez has missed the last couple matches through injury.

The 27-year-old had picked up a thigh problem in Inter’s last match before the international break. That was a 2-0 Serie A win away to Atalanta.

That injury caused Martinez to pull out of the Argentina squad during the break.

And the Inter captain has also been unavailable for matches against Udinese in Serie A, and AC Milan in the Coppa Italia after the break.

However, Lautaro Martinez is ready to return to the pitch.

The Argentine was not in the squad against Milan in midweek. But that was as much as precaution as anything.

Now, the Inter captain is fully fit.

So much so, in fact, that according to Tuttosport, Martinez will start for Inter this evening.

The Nerazzurri take on Parma away in Serie A.

However, Tuttosport report, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will nevertheless look to manage Martinez’s minutes.

Inter face a massive match this coming week. They play the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal tie against Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

Therefore, Inzaghi will aim to get playing time in Martinez’s legs ahead of that match. But then in the second half, one of Marko Arnautovic or Joaquin Correa will replace the Inter captain.
