The latest blow was Conor Bradley's injury against Arsenal. The Northern Irishman looked to have twisted his knee as he went to control a long ball and seemed in agony as he fell down to the ground immediately.
He left the Emirates in a protective boot and it looks like he could be set for a lengthy time on the sidelines. How long he will be out for remains to be seen but it now leaves Liverpool in a difficult position for the foreseeable future.
In recent weeks, it has become apparent that Slot prefers to use Jeremie Frimpong as a winger rather than as a right-back.
So, it will be interesting to see whether he does give more time to Frimpong in that right-back position.
Another possibility is to play Dominik Szoboszlai in the role but he has been playing fantastically in midfield and it would probably make the Reds' midfield weaker if he was to have to play as the right-back.
So, what is Slot's other solution?
Well there is Joe Gomez. He can play as a right-back but if he does play there it means Liverpool have no back-up centre-back on the bench, unless Wellity Lucky is in the squad.
The other solution could be Liverpool's forgotten star Calvin Ramsay. After his brilliant performance against Crystal Palace, it seems like he has been forgotten about again.
Ramsay has not featured since that game in October in the League Cup. But now Slot could finally unleash him and in the process he could discover an absolute gem.
The Scotsman showcased against Palace, why he was once so highly rated. Injuries have gotten the better of him in recent years but he is still a star in the making and now is his moment to shine.
