In a recent report, journalist Fraser Fletcher mentioned that Arsenal are among the clubs hoping to land Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller. It has been stated that the Gunners would have to rival Liverpool and two other unnamed Premier League clubs in the race to recruit the German talent next year.
The 24-year-old had an impressive campaign at the German club as he put in a series of influential displays for them at the centre of the park. Stiller participated in 47 matches for Stuttgart last season, scoring four times and earning 11 assists across all fronts.
The German sensation anchored the midfield well after he made 49 tackles, 29 blocks, 26 interceptions and 50 clearances in the Bundesliga. He has even distributed the ball accurately from midfield based on his pass completion rate of 87.4% in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the Bundesliga club will expire in the summer of 2028. Thus, it won’t be easy for the Gunners to win the race for his services on the cheap next year.

Stiller is a solid tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is a tidy passer as well.
The German sensation can even chip in by scoring and creating a handful of goals for his team going forward. Stiller is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also fill in as a box-to-box midfielder if told to do so. However, it remains to be seen whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if the Gunners manage to sign him next year.
Stiller would add more bite and steel to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s midfield. He might even help the North London club compete across all competitions in the coming years.
At 24, Stiller has got a bright future ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the Gunners to pursue next year. All in all, Arteta should focus on moving in for him this January or at the end of this campaign.
