Arsenal made it nine victories in a row across all competitions with a 2-0 win at Burnley in the Premier League.

Viktor Gyökeres and Declan Rice both scored in the first half, giving the Gunners a comfortable lead that they maintained throughout the afternoon.

The opener came from another expertly taken set-piece. Rice curled a corner into the box, Gabriel flicked it on, and Gyökeres nodded in from close range to net his first goal in six Premier League games.

The visitors dominated the opening exchanges, with Bukayo Saka twice denied by goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka and Leandro Trossard’s effort blocked on the line.

Mikel Arteta's side doubled their lead in the 35th minute when a swift counter saw Trossard deliver a precise cross for Rice to power a header into the top corner.

The Clarets struggled to respond, with their first shot on target only coming deep into the second half from Florentino Luis. Late chances went begging for both sides, including Ethan Nwaneri curling just wide for Arsenal and Marcus Edwards hitting the post for the hosts.

The result moves Arsenal seven points clear at the top of the table, while Scott Parker's side remain 17th, four points above the relegation zone.
