Arsenal were crowned champions of England on Tuesday after Manchester City drew 1-1 at Bournemouth in matchweek 37, meaning the Gunners cannot be caught and have sealed a 14th league title.

According to L'Équipe, it ends a 22-year wait since the Invincibles of 2003-04.

The north London club remain third on the all-time roll of honour, behind Liverpool and Manchester United on 20 titles each. The new crown increases their cushion over Manchester City on 10, who would have moved within two had they taken the title this year.

Since 1888-89, Liverpool and Manchester United have 20, Arsenal 14, Manchester City 10, Everton 9, Aston Villa 7. Chelsea and Sunderland have 6 apiece, Newcastle and Sheffield Wednesday 4, Leeds, Wolverhampton, Huddersfield and Blackburn 3.

Tottenham, Derby County, Burnley, Portsmouth and Preston North End have 2. Nottingham Forest, Ipswich Town, West Bromwich, Sheffield United and Leicester have 1.
