In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Arsenal have launched a move for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo this summer. It is understood that the Gunners have submitted a €78m bid to acquire the services of the Brazilian wide player in this transfer window.

Rodrygo’s Impressive Form In Spanish Football

Rodrygo enjoyed a decent run of form at the Madrid club after he put in a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 24-year-old scored 14 times and earned 11 assists in 54 matches for Los Blancos last season across all competitions.

The Brazilian talent gave a good account of himself in the final third as he averaged 2.52 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He kept 37% of his attempts on target. Rodrygo even distributed the ball relatively well after making 85.9% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Spanish football (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will expire in the summer of 2028. Therefore, the Gunners would have to make a convincing offer if they want to lure him to the Emirates Stadium in this transfer window.

What Will Rodrygo Add To Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta’s Side?

Rodrygo excels at finding a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He has proven himself to be a consistent goal-scorer in La Liga and has got the vision to create some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third.

The Brazilian sensation is also quite clever with his movements in and around the opponent’s penalty area. Rodrygo is primarily a right-winger but can also function as a left-sided wide player or as a centre-forward if told to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League.

We can expect Rodrygo to add more firepower to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s frontline. He is good enough to nail down a regular first-team spot at the Emirates Stadium this season and could prove to be an upgrade over Gabriel Martinelli, who has struggled to be consistent at times in front of the opponent’s goal.

At 24, Rodrygo has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the Gunners to pursue in this summer transfer period.
