Arsenal returned to the top of the table following a 1-0 win over Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

However, Man City have a game in hand, having played in the FA Cup semi-final on the same day.

They take on Chelsea in the final on May 16 and are pushing the Premier League to reschedule their league games against Crystal Palace and Bournemouth, according to an insider on X.

It was expected that Man City would face Palace at home on May 13 before visiting Bournemouth six days later, but they are trying to swap them around.

Man City are trying to ensure they play the Palace game after facing the Cherries, so they have their last two league games at the Etihad Stadium.

Arsenal will be fuming if the Premier League grants City’s request, and it will be intriguing to see how the situation develops.

The title would be decided on the final day of the season if both teams keep winning their league games, and no club should gain any advantage at the other’s expense.

Arsenal are back in action on Wednesday when they visit Spain to take on Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie.

They return to Premier League action on Saturday with a home game against Fulham, before hosting the La Liga club in the reverse fixture next Tuesday.

Man City are not back in action until next Monday when they visit Everton.
