Last summer, there were relentless speculations surrounding the future of Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes.
The Brazilian international endured a difficult few months leading up to the summer and was tipped for an exit, with teams from the Premier League showing an interest.
In the end, though, Rodrygo ended up staying at Real Madrid, eager to fight for his place in Xabi Alonso’s setup. However, one of his suitors from the summer continue keeping tabs on him.
Indeed, according to Defensa Central, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has not forgotten about Rodrygo and continues to retain an interest in the Real Madrid star.
In fact, the Gunners’ boss could be prepared to offload one of his current attacking players in order to make room for the Brazilian forward next summer.

Despite his obvious talent and quality, Rodrygo’s performances since last season have failed to meet expectations.
Even with Alonso’s arrival and his move to his preferred role on the left wing, the Brazilian’s form has not improved significantly.
As a result, he is still struggling to establish himself as a starter at the Santiago Bernabeu. And, if the situation persists through the season, rumours of a summer exit could start to do the rounds again.
And, Arteta and Arsenal are understood to be positioning themselves to strike as they continue to admire Rodrygo. So much so that they could part ways with one of their leading attackers to make room for the Real Madrid ace’s arrival.
It will be intriguing to see how things evolve from hereon, as Rodrygo continues to fight for more minutes at Real Madrid, while Arsenal lie in wait.
