Premier League champions Arsenal have scouted Augsburg and German-American defender Noahkai Banks, according to Sky Germany.

Representatives of the Gunners were spotted at Augsburg’s WWK Arena. 19-year-old Banks has enjoyed a breakout campaign, playing 23 Bundesliga games in 2025/26 to help Augsburg finish ninth and thus narrowly missing out on a European place.

Sandro Wagner was dismissed as Augsburg head coach in December, but the German played an influential role in the defender’s upward trajectory. “For me, Sandro was a brutally good coach, especially for me and Mert [Kömür],” explained Banks. “He helped us young players incredibly.

“He helped the team incredibly. There was no one on the team who didn’t like him. He laid the foundation for all of this. [Baum’s tactics] also work and motivate us.”

With a contract until 2029, Banks’ performances in 2025/26 has seen his market value rise from €6m in June 2025 to his current €22m valuation, per Transfermarkt. As the young star continues his development, the US-born defender remains one of the leading young defenders in Germany’s top flight.
