Arsenal are serious contenders to sign Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané, according to Christian Falk.

Mikel Arteta has identified the former Manchester City winger as a target ahead of the January transfer window. The 28-year-old is yet to sign a contract extension with Bayern with his current deal due to expire in June 2025.

This also means that Sané’s representatives are free to talk to overseas clubs from January 1st.

Another Premier League outfit, Newcastle United, were also interested in the German international but as they’re not playing Champions League football they’re a none topic.

However, Arsenal should be considered as serious contenders for Sané this January, as per Falk’s report.

Additionally, Sané’s family enjoyed their time in England when he played for Man City and one day dreamed of living in the capital.

Should Bayern wish to keep the winger beyond this season, they’ll need to move fast in January and begin contract talks. However, as it stands the player and club are not even close to coming to an agreement.
