Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka has reached an agreement in principle to extend his contract with the North London club until 2030, according to French outlet RMC Sport.

The Arsenal academy graduate has just two years remaining on his current contract at the Emirates Stadium club and talks over an extension have been ongoing for a while.

Talks between Saka and the Gunners are now in the final stages and an official confirmation announcing the new deal is expected in the coming weeks.

Arsenal want the 24-year-old to sign the deal before the end of 2025 and there are around six weeks left until the New Year.

Some suitors attempted to lure the England international away from his boyhood club but he quickly made it clear he was never going to leave.

Saka has established himself as one of the most important players at Arsenal and is now looking to help them win their first Premier League title since 2004.

He has remained in fine form this term, and he deserves to be rewarded with a new deal.

Saka has six goals in 14 appearances across all competitions so far this term having weighed in with 12 goals and 14 assists last term.

He has 76 goals and 71 assists in 277 games for the Gunners and has now committed his future and a huge chunk of the remainder of his playing career to the club.

Saka has won one FA Cup and two FA Community Shields with Arsenal, and ending the season with one major trophy would be huge after five years without one.

The Gunners have never won the Champions League despite their rich history and boasting some of the best players to grace the game.

Saka will be desperate to end that drought and manager Mikel Arteta has assembled a squad capable of challenging for the elite European competition this term.
