Arsenal attacker Noni Madueke bagged his first England goal in the 5-0 win over Serbia, and the Gunners will hope he can bring that form back to the Emirates Stadium.
The 23-year-old Arsenal summer signing was a constant threat throughout the game, with his menacing dribbling causing problems for Strahinja Pavlovic.
Madueke won four of his five duels. He completed 20/22 passes and one dribble (100%).
He took his goal well, storming behind the defence before picking his spot and finishing expertly.
The Gunners paid a significant amount for his services and will be hoping he can replicate these kinds of sensational performances in North London.
Madueke has always been a highly rated prospect, but he needs to demonstrate consistency in his performances to take the next step.
Arsenal’s faithful will hope to see him put on a similar clinic when Mikel Arteta’s side takes on Nottingham Forest this weekend.
Arsenal talisman Bukayo Saka has been pictured in training after a knock, but playing this Saturday could come too soon for the Hale End Academy graduate.
Arteta signed Madueke, so he does not have to risk Saka in games like this. Allow Saka to get some more rest while Madueke, hopefully, continues his brilliant form.
Arsenal will also hope to see Declan Rice maintain his current form after two sensational performances over the international break.
Rice scored in England’s first fixture versus Andorra, earning rave reviews for his performance. He followed it with another fantastic showing against Serbia.
His set-piece deliveries are excellent, and he set up Harry Kane’s opener with a pinpoint corner. Marc Guehi also turned in his cross from a free-kick to make it 4-0.
He completed 44 of his 46 passes, fired off seven shots, and registered five touches inside the opposition box.
Rice won three of his four duels and regained possession three times. He also created three chances, recording two assists.
Rice has been reaching a different stratosphere recently and will prove pivotal to Arsenal’s plans of winning a trophy this season.
