The Telegraph reports that Arsenal, the reigning English champions, are preparing a record salary offer to tempt Vini Jr from Real Madrid, a deal that would make him the highest-paid player in the club’s history.
The approach comes amid talks over a new Real Madrid contract for Vinicius Júnior. There is no official offer between the clubs, and Arsenal are monitoring in case discussions fail to progress.
Vini Jr is understood to earn about £400,000 per week in Madrid. Arsenal would be willing to exceed that to persuade him to swap Spain for England.
His current deal was signed in 2022 and announced in 2023, worth roughly 18 million euros net per season with a one billion euros release clause. The Brazilian is seeking an uplift that reflects his status, particularly after Kylian Mbappé’s arrival. Real Madrid still consider him central to their project and show no desire to sell their number seven.
Since joining in 2018, Vinicius Júnior has become one of Real Madrid’s leading figures, scoring 22 goals last season across competitions. He also impressed for Brazil at the World Cup, netting four times in five games.
