Despite all the transfer talk over the summer, Real Madrid forward Rodrygo stayed put. The Brazilian was rumored to be on PSG’s radar, but nothing came of it.

Reports on PSG’s level of interest have varied. Foot Mercato’s Josué Cassé said Rodrygo wasn’t among the players the French club was targeting. At the same time, Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg claimed both PSG and Liverpool were keeping tabs on him, with Tottenham Hotspur not in the mix.

A future move to PSG can’t be ruled out, but whether Rodrygo departs will hinge on how his role and situation develop at Madrid in the months ahead.

Will Real Madrid standout Rodrygo Force a Move?

TBR Football reported Monday that Arsenal and Tottenham have been made aware that Rodrygo is once again weighing his future with Real Madrid. The Spanish club convinced the attacker to remain in Madrid during the summer window despite speculation about a possible move.

But his doubts about playing time have turned out to be justified. The 24-year-old has started only two matches this season, with Xabi Alonso often turning to Franco Mastantuono and Arda Guler instead.

“Rodrygo’s situation has not improved this season,” TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, said. “As we reported in the summer, Xabi Alonso always planned on making Arda Guler one of his key figures, and that has played out as expected.

“With teen starlet Franco Mastantuono also getting regular game time, there is little sign of how Rodrygo can find a route back into the lineup. I am told that Rodrygo is again considering his options, and one possibility is a switch to the Premier League, which could become a real option in January. He is certainly one to watch as we approach the New Year.”
