Arsenal host Chelsea in a huge Premier League clash on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta was able to rest players as Arsenal drew 2-2 with PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League on Wednesday night, sealing their progress into the quarter-finals with an aggregate 9-2 victory after a huge 7-1 win in the Netherlands earlier this month.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are chasing Champions League qualification. Enzo Maresca’s side are fourth heading into this weekend’s round of fixtures after the Blues beat Leicester last weekend.

On Thursday, Chelsea beat Copenhagen 1-0 to seal their spot in the quarter-finals of the Conference League.

Cole Palmer shook off a recent illness to come off the bench for Chelsea against Copenhagen

Arteta will almost certainly bring all of Jurrien Timber, William Saliba, Ethan Nwaneri, Martin Odegaard and Leandro Trossard back into the starting lineup after they started the PSV game on the bench.

Cole Palmer shook off illness to feature off the bench on Thursday night and is expected to start on Sunday.

Reece James was also on the bench for that game following illness of his own and will likely be back in action here. Levi Colwill is also expected to come back into the starting lineup alongside Marc Cucurella.

Arsenal vs Chelsea prediction

Arsenal were poor in their 1-1 draw with Manchester United last weekend, having been brought crashing back down to earth in the Premier League following European success.

Still, Chelsea are unlikely to defend quite as deep as United did, which should help Arteta’s side. It remains difficult to judge the Blues given the quality of their opposition of late and Arsenal are no doubt a huge step up.
