John McGinn trained at Bodymoor Heath on Wednesday ahead of Aston Villa’s Europa League semi-final second leg against Nottingham Forest.
According to Nottingham Post, McGinn was left out of the squad to face Tottenham on Sunday as a precaution after tightness in his hamstring.
Unai Emery will be asked to provide an update on Amadou Onana at his pre-match media conference. Onana suffered a calf injury in the first half of the first leg at the City Ground and was taken off shortly after the interval.
He had only just returned to the team after a minor knee problem, which caused him to miss the defeat at Fulham. He also sat out the game against Spurs because of the calf issue.
Villa head into the tie after three consecutive defeats, while Forest are unbeaten in their last 10 and recorded a 3-1 victory at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge on Monday.
Emery made seven changes against Tottenham last weekend, while Vitor Pereira made eight.
