Aston Villa reportedly made an offer to Chelsea for Alejandro Garnacho, with a potential knock-on effect for Roma, Fiorentina, Napoli and Milan.
Transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano claims this afternoon that Aston Villa presented a formal proposal to Chelsea, ready to take Garnacho on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
The Argentina international has struggled for playing time since last summer’s €46.2m move from Manchester United, and is seeking somewhere to find consistent form.

Garnacho has been repeatedly linked with a switch to Serie A in recent months, above all for Roma and Napoli, although the Giallorossi seem to have dropped their interest in order to focus on West Ham United’s Crysencio Summerville.
There were even some suggestions that Fiorentina might be interested in a bid for the 22-year-old, but if he was going to head towards Italy, it would be for a club in the Champions League.
Meanwhile, if Aston Villa do invest heavily in Garnacho, that will be bad news for Milan, who were hoping that the Premier League side would instead purchase Rafael Leao for the left side of attack this summer.
Negotiations are also continuing between the two clubs for Pervis Estupinan, another player who the Rossoneri are eager to get off their books.
