Aston Villa plotting to sign Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea | OneFootball

According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa are plotting a move to sign Christopher Nkunku (28) from Chelsea before the summer transfer window closes. The Birmingham club are aware of the conditions it would take for the West London outfit to sanction a deal before the end of the window.

Nkunku has been declared surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge this summer. Enzo Maresca has indicated that he no longer features in his plans, and the France international has been told to find a new club. With his future away from Chelsea, several clubs have registered an interest in signing the 28-year-old attacking midfielder.

Aston Villa are not alone in their interest in signing the attacking midfielder. The Frenchman is also attracting interest from the Bundesliga, with Bayern Munich and his former club, RB Leipzig, also interested in recruiting the PSG academy graduate. Villa are also interested in signing Marco Asensio (29) from Paris Saint-Germain.
