Aston Villa to offer Boubacar Kamara ‘historic’ contract to ward off suitors | OneFootball

Aston Villa are desperate to retain Boubacar Kamara (25) to the extent that the Premier League side are willing to offer the Frenchman a “historic” new contract.

As revealed by The Telegraph last week, Aston Villa have begun talks to extend Kamara’s contract at Villa Park. The former Olympique de Marseille midfielder’s current deal expires in 2027. However, there is a chance that the France international does not see out that deal. Foot Mercato understands that multiple elite European clubs are interested in recruiting the player during the upcoming summer transfer window.

To ward off those suitors, Aston Villa are willing to take extreme measures. As per Foot Mercato, Kamara is set to be offered a “historic” contract, the likes of which have “never been seen in the club’s history”. Unai Emery and Aston Villa are therefore desperate to keep a player that has recovered well from his severe knee injury to become a crucial player in midfield.

However, the Premier League side will also have to perform between now and the end of the season. Having played in the UEFA Champions League this season, he wants to do so again in the next campaign and that is a condition that could yet have a bearing on negotiations.
