Aston Villa win CAS appeal to register 17-year-old striker Brian Madjo | OneFootball

Aston Villa have won a Court of Arbitration for Sport appeal, clearing them to register teenage striker Brian Madjo. He can now feature in the Premier League, Champions League and domestic cups, if selected.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Villa lodged their appeal at the start of last month and secured a ruling in Switzerland after a hearing last month. The decision overturns FIFA's refusal to register the 17-year-old under rules restricting international transfers of under-18s.

Madjo joined from Ligue 1 side Metz in January for around £10 million.

He is 17 and turns 18 in January. He had been expected to head out on loan for the first half of the campaign because he could not play in league or cups until his birthday.

Born in London, he played youth international football for England, then moved to Luxembourg at a young age and now has three senior caps for Luxembourg.

The 6ft 4ins forward has scored four goals in pre-season and Villa will now assess the teenager’s next steps.
