During the summer, Paris Saint-Germain looked into several options to strengthen their attack for the 2024-25 season, with Aston Villa’s Jhon Durán emerging as a potential target.
In October, Diario AS’ Eduardo Burgos revealed that both Bayern Munich and PSG had submitted offers for Durán during the summer transfer window, but Aston Villa rejected them.
Manager Unai Emery reportedly sees the 21-year-old forward as a key part of the club’s future plans. Recently, Football Insider reported that PSG are preparing a blockbuster cash-plus-player swap deal involving Randal Kolo Muani and Durán.
Last month, Fichajes cited sources close to PSG, suggesting the club is ready to begin talks with Aston Villa, starting with an initial offer of €60 million.

Amid the rumors linking Durán to PSG, French football expert Jonathan Johnson spoke about the Colombian and what type of player the Parisians would be getting should they push for the attacker. Nonetheless, Johnson notes that a deal won’t get done in January.
“There is a very talented player,” Johson said about Durán on the latest PSG Talking podcast. “Technically, I’d probably rate him above Kolo Muani, but certainly in terms of being a reliable presence in front of goal and having the ability to hit the target and score regularly. I think he has a lot more variety, and he would boost PSG’s chances of scoring.
“Whether or not he takes well to the way Luis Enrique sets the team up, we’d have to see how it could work. But I think being coached by someone who speaks Spanish, you can look at the impact it’s had under Unai Emery this season in getting him to understand the super sub role.
“I don’t think he’d come into a potential PSG move expecting to start. But I do think there is an element of Durán seeing himself at a top European club like PSG, not necessarily before the end of the season, but possibly from this summer onwards. So the timing almost lines up.”
This week, TalkSPORT reported that Aston Villa could be willing to sell Durán, with the club possibly open to letting the 21-year-old go for £60 million.
