Blau-Weiß to visit

The UEFA Europa League draw has been made, now it's time to finish the weekend in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga with a bang before the international break. Our clear aim is three points to maintain our lead in the table.

Like last week, the match will be played on Saturday at 17:00 CEST, but this time the opponents from Linz will be wearing blue and white. The visitors are still waiting for its first points of the season, having suffered four defeats (against Rapid, Hartberg, WAC and Ried), and the team of new coach Mitja Mörec are yet to score a single goal in the league.

The Upper Austrians have performed confidently in the cup though with two 3-0 victories, most recently against Schwaz in the second round, and now want to force a turnaround in the league as well. We know from experience that games against FC Blau-Weiß Linz can go either way and that they can always be difficult opponents. On Saturday, therefore, we will need to give our absolute all again before many of our Red Bulls join their national teams.

Tickets are available in our Online Ticket Shop. Everything worth knowing about visiting the stadium can be read in our matchday info:

It would be careless of us to think that Saturday's match will be a walk in the park simply because of the league table and the fact that Blau-Weiß have yet to get any points. It's always important to prepare with concentration and analyse the opponent carefully. We saw how it can go yesterday in the cup against Dornbirn. It was a game in which we had 83 per cent possession and the opponents only shot at our goal once. That's why you have to make sure you can see off matches like that. Despite their change of coach, relatively little has changed at Blau-Weiß. The structure and many of the basic features of their game have remained very similar. We already know what to expect. We will do everything we can to avoid underestimating our opponents.

I am really looking forward to this match because I have very fond memories of Blau-Weiß Linz. At first, it wasn't easy for me to settle in there. A lot was new to me and it took a little while. Things got better and better over time. I was able to play in the Bundesliga with Blau-Weiß, learned a lot and met many nice people. Even though it will be nice to see my former club again on Saturday, I am highly motivated and, as a player for FC Red Bull Salzburg, I am determined to get three points again.
