La Liga outfit Athletic Club have on Monday announced an injury setback in the club’s first-team ranks.

This comes amid confirmation that defender Yuri Berchiche is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.

The left-back for his part featured from the off on Sunday, as Athletic Club locked horns with Celta Vigo in a La Liga clash.

En route to a disappointing 2-0 defeat for the Basques, however, Berchiche was forced into a premature departure early in the 2nd-half.

As much came owing to a sudden muscular problem.

And as alluded to above, 24 hours on, an insight into the nature of the issue has been forthcoming online.

As per a statement across Athletic Club’s website and social media platforms:

‘Yuri Berchiche was substituted in the 51st minute of yesterday’s match against RC Celta after suffering an injury to the hamstring muscle in his right leg. His recovery remains to be seen.’
