Inter Milan center-back Yann Bisseck offered his assessment of tonight’s gut-wrenching 2-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid.

Speaking to Prime Video via FCInterNews, the 24-year-old confirmed how hard it was for Inter to process this painful loss.

After Sunday’s defeat in the Milan derby, Inter had to swallow another bitter pill tonight.

Indeed, Jose Maria Gimenez’s 93rd-minute header condemned the Nerazzurri to their first European loss of the season.

Furthermore, the San Siro giants have now lost consecutive matches for only the second time under Cristian Chivu.

Despite being part of the defense that conceded twice in Madrid, Yann Bisseck delivered a decent performance.

However, it wasn’t enough for another Champions League clean sheet, let alone Inter’s first away win over Spanish opposition in 13 games.

Bisseck, who got the nod ahead of Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij, excelled in the first half.

Yet, he ran out of steam after the break, often struggling to cope with Giuliano Simeone’s blistering pace.

“In football, it happens,” Bisseck said after the game. “Sometimes you give everything…

“We didn’t deserve to lose today, but that’s football.

“We must keep working, and maybe in the future we’ll have a bit more luck.”

Moreover, Bisseck highlighted Inter’s solid performance at the Metropolitano Stadium, insisting they didn’t deserve to lose.

“We gave everything, we conceded two or three shots and then two goals,” he added.

“It’s not fair, but that’s football.”

However, the former Aarhus defender hailed Inter’s showing.

“I’m happy with the team’s performance,” Bisseck continued. “We did things well.

“There are things to improve, but I can’t say anything bad about the team. It hurts badly.

“I don’t know what to say.”
