Atlético Madrid eyeing summer deal for Barcelona star | OneFootball

The brass at Atlético Madrid have set sights on the signature of a member of the midfield ranks at La Liga rivals Barcelona.

This comes amid the understanding that Marc Casadó remain firmly in the sights of Diego Simeone and co.

Midfielder Casadó was for his part heavily linked with a departure from Barcelona last summer, with Atlético one of a whole host of clubs credited with an interest in the Spanish international.

In the end, the 22-year-old pushed to stay put, rejecting any and all offers for his signature.

Casadó’s 2025/26, though, proved to be a challenging one, as the youngster found himself knocked down the engine room pecking order in Hansi Flick’s squad.

And as alluded to above, with as much in mind, Atléti appear ready to reignite their pursuit.

As per a report from Diario Sport, amid an ongoing search for reinforcements in the middle of the park:

‘One of the clubs that has renewed its interest in recent weeks is Atlético de Madrid. In mid-April, Enrique Cerezo himself called Barcelona president Joan Laporta to convey his interest in the player.’

Casadó for his part remains committed to the cause in Barcelona, but the situation could well change over the summer as the Camp Nou hierarchy seek funds raised through sales.
