Atlético-MG sign Victor Hugo from Flamengo in R$ 13.4 million, five-year deal | OneFootball

Atlético-MG have completed the signing of Flamengo midfielder Victor Hugo on a five-season deal running to 2031, following a successful medical on Sunday 18.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the Belo Horizonte club will pay two and a half million dollars, about R$ 13.4 million, to acquire 50% of his economic rights. Flamengo are set to receive around R$ 13 million from the deal.

The signing was requested by head coach Jorge Sampaoli, who worked with Victor Hugo during his time at Flamengo.

Victor Hugo was not in Filipe Luís’s plans at Flamengo and spent last season on loan at Santos.

A Flamengo academy product, he was part of squads that lifted the Copa Libertadores in 2022 in Ecuador, the Copa do Brasil in 2022 and 2024, and the Campeonato Carioca in 2024.

Flamengo face Vasco on Wednesday 21 in the second round of the Carioca at the Maracanã, kick-off 21:30 Brasília time.
