La Liga giants Atlético Madrid are set to be without the services of a leading member of the club’s frontline for their upcoming meeting with Barcelona.

The player in question? Ángel Correa.

Atlético, of course, were back in action on Sunday evening, making the trip to the Estadio Coliseum for a La Liga meeting with Getafe.

When all was said and done, Diego Simeone’s troops were condemned to the wrong side of a 2-1 result, a heavy blow amid their ongoing pursuit of the Spanish top-flight title.

And as alluded to above, en route to as much, the Rojiblancos were also dealt a blow on the personnel front.

Late in the action in Madrid, the aforementioned Ángel Correa was shown a straight red card, for a verbal exchange with referee Guillermo Cuadra.

As much means that the frontman is facing up to an incoming suspension, starting with next weekend’s crunch La Liga showdown with Barcelona.
