La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have this weekend been afforded some timely positive news on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that Pablo Barrios has ramped up his efforts to return to the pitch.
Midfielder Barrios was for his part forced to sit out on Saturday, as his Atlético teammates made short work of Sevilla in a La Liga clash.
This came owing to a muscular issue suffered earlier in the week.
As much was expected to rule the Spanish international out of his side’s upcoming Champions League clash with Union Saint-Gilloise on Tuesday, too.
But if the latest word stemming from the Atléti camp is anything to go by, then Barrios could yet spring a surprise…
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, the 22-year-old, on Sunday, ‘was seen working with one of the Atlético Madrid physiotherapists in a session where he touched the ball, practiced changes of pace, movement, sprints, and other exercises’.
The understanding is in turn that Barrios’ comeback is imminent.
