Atlético Madrid star Jan Oblak did not hold back when afforded the chance to speak on his side’s latest performance on Sunday.

This of course comes fresh off an outing to forget for the Rojiblancos.

Diego Simeone’s troops marked their return to action earlier today, making the trip across Madrid to lock horns with Rayo Vallecano.

Atlético headed into proceedings riding high, fresh off a 4-0 drubbing of Barcelona in the Copa del Rey during the week.

The capital giants, however, were soon brought crashing back down to earth…

Owing to a hugely underwhelming team performance, Atléti found themselves condemned to the wrong side of a 3-0 result.

And as alluded to above, left with a bitter taste in his mouth post-match at Vallecas was Jan Oblak.

Drawn on the performance put forth by he and his teammates following the full-time whistle, shot-stopper Oblak ranted:

“We’ve thrown the league away! We can’t keep playing these kinds of matches… we deserved to lose.”
