The Gabonese international striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has expressed his admiration for his Algerian teammate Amine Gouiri, describing him as the ideal attacking partner, despite the challenges Gouiri has faced since the start of the season.Having recently returned to Olympique de Marseille from Saudi club Al-Qadsia after just a single season away from the French side, Aubameyang is back in Ligue 1 with renewed ambition.

In an interview with Ligue 1+ ahead of the highly anticipated clash against Paris Saint-Germain, Aubameyang said about Gouiri: “He’s someone who is extremely strong technically, with excellent vision of the game. His style reminds me a little of Alexandre Lacazette, and I hope that if we play together, we’ll work just as well as we did with him.”He added: “Gouiri often plays centrally, and of course, we are ready to make any sacrifices for the team. If we need to play out wide, either of us can do it.”He continued: “Personally, I haven’t played much on the wings in recent years, but with Amine, we’re two different types of strikers who can perfectly complement each other. He’s an exceptionally technical player, with remarkable vision, and he can even play as a number 10.”Aubameyang concluded: “His style reminds me of Lacazette at Arsenal. We managed to play together before, and I hope our chemistry will continue here.”It’s worth noting that Olympique de Marseille recently announced Aubameyang had been named player of the month for August after his outstanding performance in the 5-2 win over Paris FC, where he scored twice and provided an assist.
