Augsburg and Palace near agreement on €30m Chrislain Matsima transfer | OneFootball

Florian Plettenberg reports that Augsburg and Crystal Palace have made significant progress in the matter of defender Chrislain Matsima’s stalled transfer. New negotiations between the Premier League outfit and the Bundesliga club took place on Monday. Once negotiations are wrapped up, the total package for the Frenchman will exceed €30m.

Matsima remains in Bavaria for now, having not yet been granted clearance to travel to England for his medical. The situation suggests that a breakthrough is close, but not yet complete. Palace must still satisfy Augsburg’s financial demands before Matsima can receive clearance to finalize his Premier League transfer very shortly indeed.

The French defender has already reached a verbal agreement with the Eagles and remains eager to complete the move. Augsburg previously rejected Palace’s €25m offer, but the latest round of talks indicates that both clubs are working toward a compromise capable of bringing the negotiations to an end.
