Auxerre rival Qatari interest in Chelsea’s David Datro Fofana | OneFootball

AJ Auxerre currently sit second from bottom of Ligue 1 and are therefore looking to strengthen their squad before the closure of the transfer window in order to avoid relegation to Ligue 2. 

As per a report from L’Équipe, L’AJA are interested in Chelsea forward David Datro Fofana (23), who is expected to leave Stamford Bridge before the closure of the transfer window. The Ivorian spent the first half of the season out on loan in Turkey, where he netted six goals in 13 league games for Karagumruk. 

However, that loan came to an end earlier this month. Without any prospects of gametime at Chelsea, Fofana is expected to be on the move once more. The striker, under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2029, is the subject of interest from Auxerre, with Christophe Pelissier keen to add attacking reinforcements over the coming days.

However, they may have to face competition, with several Qatari clubs also interested in the forward.
