Bayern colleagues are said to have convinced Neuer

Particularly interesting: There is also said to have been great pressure from the Bayern squad for a DFB comeback

Several Munich team-mates are said to have actively encouraged Neuer to reconsider his retirement from the national team, with the prospect of another World Cup playing a major role internally

Neuer apparently also received support from his private circle, with his family said to have expressly supported both the contract extension at FC Bayern and a possible participation in the World Cup

According to the report, the new development was only brought to the DFB’s attention afterwards
