Fans have named 21-year-old Nathaniel Brown as the Bundesliga’s Rookie of the Month for the second time in succession.
It’s déjà vu for Nathaniel Brown! After being named the Bundesliga’s Rookie of the Month for November 11 days before Christmas, the 21-year-old has now won the award for the second month in succession after coming out on top in December’s league-wide fan vote, ahead of FC Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise and Holstein Kiel’s Lasse Rosenboom. As well as his back-to-back Rookie Awards, the Germany U21 international was recently voted December’s Mainova Player of the Month by the Eintracht community.
Earlier this week, Eintracht’s number 21 was described by board member for sport Markus Krösche as one of the “rising stars of the past few weeks”. Brown started four of the Eagles’ five matches in all competitions last month, netting a clinical effort in Leipzig and registering numerous assists. One of those came in Eintracht’s final match of 2024 against Mainz, when he claimed his first assist from a corner in his career thanks to Rasmus Kristensen’s second-half header.
“Nene has done brilliantly, I’m really pleased for him,” Brown’s friend and team-mate Can Uzun, who teed up the former’s effort against Leipzig on Matchday 14 with a nonchalant pass, said in the most recent episode of the “Im Herzen von Europa” podcast. Both youngsters spent time at 1. FC Nürnberg last season but have been part of Eintracht’s first team since the start of the 2024/25 campaign.
