The forward completed the move to the Red Dragons on a frantic deadline day, ending speculation over his immediate future, which had surrounded most of the January window.

The 20-year-old was an exciting talent for the Owls — contributing two goals from 29 appearances in the league this season — whose financial difficulties put his position at the club under scrutiny.

Cadamarteri had interest from Blackburn and Millwall, leading to rejected offers worth around £800,000.

Wrexham have reportedly paid a seven-figure fee of roughly £1 million to sign the player, with the market now shut until the end of the campaign.

Cadamarteri has expressed his delight at making the move to the Racecourse Ground on deadline day, highlighting the exciting journey the club have been on in recent years.

The 20-year-old has also mentioned Phil Parkinson as a factor in his move to the Red Dragons, and he is now hoping to play a role in the team’s pursuit of yet another promotion.

“I couldn’t be happier,” said Cadamarteri, via the club’s official website.

“The club is on a really good journey and I’m excited to be part of it.

“Phil is a great manager; he’s really experienced and been in the game a long time – I’m looking forward to showing him what I can do.”

Wrexham are aiming for yet another promotion, having gone up in each of the last three campaigns.

Parkinson’s side also made the signing of Davis Keillor-Dunn on deadline day, along with sealing the departures of Mo Fall, Ryan Hardie and Harry Ashfield on what was a busy final 24 hours of the window.

The Red Dragons are currently sixth in the Championship table, just two points clear of seventh place Derby County.

Next up for Wrexham is a home clash against fifth place Millwall on 7 February in a 3.01pm kick-off, where the club will be aiming to make it three wins in a row.

Bailey Cadamarteri signing has a lot of potential for Wrexham

Cadamarteri was a consistent performer for Sheffield Wednesday prior to this deadline day move, and he already has over 50 games under his belt in the Championship.

For a figure of around £1 million, this could prove a real coup for the Welsh outfit, who have secured a young talent at a reasonable cost.

Cadamarteri has a lot of potential to become much more valuable than this seven-figure sum, so winning the race to his signature is great business.

It is yet another blow for Sheffield Wednesday, but it’s no surprise that the likes of Wrexham have looked to take advantage of their precarious financial position.
