Parque São Jorge, Corinthians' social headquarters, displayed banners backing former president Andrés Sanchez ahead of a Monday night vote on whether to expel him over alleged misuse of the club's corporate card.
According to Meu Timao, messages rejected expulsion, alleged dirty politics and urged a secret ballot, while others argued his history should shield him. Some also targeted Leonardo Pantaleão, acting president of the Deliberative Council.
After images spread on social media, a supporter removed the displays and set fire to the pro Sanchez materials.
Councillors will vote on a report by Pantaleão recommending Sanchez's expulsion for personal spending on the club card between 2018 and 2021 totalling about R$ 480,000.
The club's Justice Commission opened the case in August, and the São Paulo state prosecutor's office later charged him with embezzlement, money laundering and falsifying a tax document. He stepped back from his council posts.
A São Paulo court initially dismissed the laundering and falsification counts, but that decision was suspended after prosecutors sought the judge's recusal for alleged partiality.
The Ethics and Discipline Commission will read its opinion before an oral defence, then councillors may opt for expulsion, a warning, suspension or to archive the case. The meeting is closed to the public and media, with an expectation of an open, roll-call vote.
In parallel, six organised groups have called a peaceful protest at Parque São Jorge on Monday afternoon, seeking accountability from former executives for issues including R$ 2.7 billion in debt and transfer bans since 2025. They include Gaviões da Fiel and Camisa 12.
