FC Barcelona is already preparing for the future. With seven months remaining on Robert Lewandowski's contract, the Catalan club cannot afford any improvisation in an attacking sector that has become overly reliant on the Polish striker. At 37, the former Bayern star admitted in a press conference that he has not yet decided on his future, casting uncertainty that forces the sporting management to plan ahead.

Harry Kane, the ideal successor according to Barça

According to information from the Guardian, Barça has already identified its top priority: Harry Kane. At 32, the English forward is seen as the perfect candidate to take over the number 9 role at Camp Nou. His all-around profile, consistency, and clinical finishing make him a natural heir to Lewandowski in the eyes of the recruitment team.

While the operation is complex, it appears achievable. Kane has a special clause allowing him to leave Bayern Munich next summer for a fee just over 50 million euros—a bargain for a player of his caliber. But nothing is set in stone. The Englishman is under contract until 2027, feels comfortable in Munich, and so does his family. The Bavarian club, fully satisfied with his performances, has no intention of making his departure easy.

FC Barcelona, fully aware of the competition and challenges, will therefore need to be especially persuasive to attract one of the best number 9s in the world. One thing is certain: if Lewandowski leaves, Barça wants to make a statement signing. And for that, the name Harry Kane is written in capital letters.
