Camp Nou awaits final approval as Johan Cruyff Stadium emerges as alternative
Barca in Venue Trouble: Where Will They Play Next?
Barcelona's still navigating stadium approval issues ahead of its upcoming La Liga fixtures.
While the club's secured permission to host Champions league matches at Camp Nou domestic league approvals remain pending.
The Blaugrana'll visit Rayo Vallecano on Sunday 31 August at Vallecas Stadium before hosting Valencia on either Sep 13 or 14. The venue for the Valencia match's yet to be confirmed.
Camp Nou's currently unavailable leaving the Johan Cruyff Stadium as the likely alternative. La Liga has previously rejected Mestalla Stadium to prevent Barcelona from starting the season with 4 consecutive away matches.
Other options like Montjuic or Girona’s Montilivi are unavailable due to concerts & scheduling conflicts.
Johan Cruyff Stadium seats only 6000 spectators, below the minimum 15000 required for 1st division match under Article 19, Section 3.
Barcelona'll need to negotiate with La Liga for one off exception emphasizing that it's single match not season long arrangement.
A final decision's expected by Thursday coinciding with UEFA confirming Barcelona’s Champions league matches at camp nou.
