At Real Madrid, celebrations broke out after the cancellation of the Villarreal vs Barça match in Miami. LaLiga president Javier Tebas took aim at Los Blancos.
Just days after the relocation of Villarreal vs FC Barcelona to Miami was called off, LaLiga chief Javier Tebas once again voiced his disappointment over the decision, before openly lashing out at Real Madrid players, and especially Thibaut Courtois. The goalkeeper didn't hesitate to call it "censorship" during a press conference on Tuesday evening ahead of Real's Champions League clash with Juventus.
"We went to UEFA, who reluctantly accepted (the cancellation), and the European commissioner as well. There were many factors (that led to this decision). Real Madrid players only know how to say one thing: 'rigged, rigged, rigged.' I hear Courtois, and it's the same when José Angel Sanchez (Real's general director) speaks—they say the same thing. Of course, what else are Real Madrid players going to say? As if they'd dare say otherwise," Tebas declared when questioned at the exit of the Nueva Economia Forum event.
