La Liga champions Barcelona have closed an agreement on the terms of a contract with Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi. Talks, in turn, will now be kicked into gear between the Blaugrana and BVB.
The name of attacker Adeyemi has of course emerged as a headline one in the Spanish media over the last 24 hours. This comes after word was forthcoming that those in the Camp Nou boardroom had set their sights on the signature of the German international.
Adeyemi, boasting explosive pace, versatility and an eye for goal, is considered an ideal fit in Hansi Flick’s frontline.
The 24-year-old managed 10 goals and six assists across 39 appearances in all competitions in the colours of the aforementioned Dortmund last time out.
Ahead of the expiration of his contract at Signal Iduna Park in 12 months’ time, however, Adeyemi has emerged as a serious summer target in Catalunya’s capital.
And interest in a joining of forces, it would, appear, is very much mutual between the winger and Barcelona.
As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano:
‘Karim Adeyemi agreed terms with Barcelona and informed BVB he only wants Barça move. Adeyemi, out of contract in June 2027 and not planning to sign new deal.
‘Barcelona sent an official bid to BVB to get Adeyemi now, working to get it done.’
