Barcelona have made it a custom to sport the logo of an artist or their album during El Clasico in recent seasons since signing a sponsorship agreement with Spotify. The music streaming brand and Barcelona have now settled on the artist on their shirt for the coming Clasico this October.
The date has been set for the first Clasico of the season, which will take place on the 26th of October at 16:15 CEST. It will be at the Santiago Bernabeu, and will see Xabi Alonso make his managerial debut in the fixture, with the pressure of ending a run of four straight victories against the Blaugrana.

As per RAC1, via MD, it will be Ed Sheeran who appears on their shirt in El Clasico. The English singer, 34, recently performed at the Metropolitano stadium this summer, and is currently on tour in Europe, but has an Australian set of dates coming up in early 2026. Sheeran released his eighth album ‘Play’ on the 12th of September, and is already planning to release his ninth in 2027.

Sheeran joins an illustrious list of artists to have been given the honour, rubbing shoulders with Drake, Rosalia, the Rolling Stones, Karol G, Coldplay, and most recently Travis Scott, who was in attendance for Barcelona’s 4-3 win over Los Blancos at Montjuic in May.
He is a football fan himself, and owns 1.4% of Ipswich Town, the team that he has always supported. Barcelona will hope to be back at Camp Nou by the time the second La Liga Clasico rolls around, with their stadium naming rights deal with Spotify in jeopardy due to the delays in the stadium renovation. The Blaugrana played at the 6,000-seater Estadi Johan Cruyff on Sunday, and are set to play their second home game there too.
