Hansi Flick has named a 22 man Barcelona squad that are flying to Tyneside today, ahead of facing Newcastle United on Thursday night.

All eyes on whether Lamine Yamal would be included, following well publicised issues regarding injury and fitness, with Hansi Flick furious with the Spain national squad set-up and how they handled the player this month.

The big news is that Lamine Yamal will NOT face Newcastle United.

Barcelona’s best player not included in the 22 man squad that is flying to Newcastle.

However, Frenkie de Jong is included, after recovering from injury.

As well as Lamine Yamal, Barcelona are also missing Gavi, Alejandro Balde, and Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Summer signings Joan Garcia, Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji are also all making the trip.

Exactly 28 years to the day after the Tino Asprilla hat-trick match, this generation of Barcelona players will take to the Newcastle United home pitch for a training session, in advance of Thursday night’s match.

Hansi Flick meanwhile, will be attending to his pre-match media duties as well, as St James’ Park.

Ahead of flying to Tyneside, the Barcelona boss has already expressed some sweet words full of respect for Newcastle United.
