After starting the season without several important players due to injuries, matters have improved significantly for FC Barcelona in the last few months as they have gradually recovered almost all of their long-term injured players.

As things stand, there are only three players currently in the Blaugrana infirmary, i.e., Marc Andre Ter Stegen, Marc Bernal, and Andreas Christensen.

One can argue that the German goalkeeper is the most important of these players, and even though Wojciech Szczesny is doing a good job between the sticks, Hansi Flick must be keenly awaiting his return.

Early assessments on the patellar tendon that he tore in the game against Villarreal raised the fear that he might not be able to play again this season. However, recently, the possibility of him returning for the last phases of this season has emerged, as he is recovering at quite a good pace.

However, it might still be too early to set a date for his return, and according to Mundo Deportivo, the goalkeeper will only receive the necessary information by the end of March, which will help him and the club assess his recovery status and determine when he can get back in action.

By the time March ends, there will still be two months of action left in the season. Thus, instead of rushing to make a return to the pitch now, the goalkeeper is deciding to take things at a gradual pace and to meet all his recovery deadlines before returning to availability.

Still, the German veteran is very satisfied with how the recovery process is going, and also with the work that Barcelona is doing by providing him access to doctors, recovery workers, and the goalkeeping fitness coach.

Ter Stegen is currently undertaking visits to the doctor every seven days to assess his progress, and hopefully, his patience and hard work will ultimately help him return between the sticks in his best possible form.
